It’s Bond versus spider in today’s clip from DR. NO (1962). Sean Connery hated spiders so the production team attempted to have a Perspex sheet in between him and the spider when it crawls on his shoulder. However, the camera’s reflection was visible in in the glass, so they had to shoot it for real. Production designer Ken Adam said: “We told him that the poison had been removed. But you cannot remove the poison from a tarantula. We had a couple of nurses with injections standing by.”
